The verdict · May 11, 2026

No.

You don't need a CRM.

Why

You're a solo operator getting roughly 60–90 inquiries a month, all on one channel — WhatsApp. There's no team coordination problem, no multi-channel attribution problem, no pipeline forecasting problem. What you actually need is a way to remember who asked about which lehenga last week, and a catalog you can send in two taps instead of digging through your gallery every time.

What you actually need

  1. WhatsApp Business app (free) — switch from regular WhatsApp, set up labels: "New enquiry", "Sent photos", "Negotiating", "Confirmed order", "Repeat customer". Upload your saris and lehengas to the Catalog feature so you can send a product card instead of 8 separate photos.
  2. WhatsApp Business Quick Replies — set up /price, /sizes, /delivery, /payment as shortcuts for the questions you answer 20 times a day. Saves you an hour daily.
  3. A habit — the 9pm follow-up sweep — every night before bed, open the "Sent photos" and "Negotiating" labels. Anyone who hasn't replied in 48 hours gets a single warm nudge ("Didi, any thoughts on the green one?"). That's where your missed sales are hiding.

Do this today

Install WhatsApp Business from the Play Store, verify with your existing business number, then go to Settings → Business tools → Catalog → Add item, and add your 10 best-selling pieces with price and a one-line description. Next time someone asks "kya rate hai", you send the catalog link instead of typing it out. You'll save 30 minutes today and every day after.

What to ignore

Skip Wati, AiSensy, Interakt, and Gallabox — they all start around ₹2,500–3,500/month, which is two full days of your sales revenue for features you cannot use solo. Ignore anyone pitching you Zoho Bigin or Shopify right now; you have one channel and one person, software won't add a single rupee until that changes.

What doing nothing costs you

At 2–3 leads/day, a 20% slippage from forgotten follow-ups = roughly 12–18 lost enquiries a month. Even one converted ₹2,000 sale a week recovered = ~₹1 lakh/year you're currently leaving in unread chats.

When to revisit this

When daily sales cross ₹5,000/day consistently, or when you hire someone to help pack and reply — that's when a ₹550/mo Zoho Bigin seat starts paying for itself.
