we are an event management company and me being the sales head want a software to track their progress their daily lead s, pipeline value .. so that they can update easily

The verdict · Jul 29, 2026

Yes.

You need a simple CRM — but a light one, not Salesforce.

What's really going on

Event sales live and die on follow-up timing — a bride, a corporate admin, a wedding planner all go cold in days. Your reps don't need dashboards. They need a phone app where updating a lead takes ten seconds between site visits. If the tool feels like homework, they'll keep it in WhatsApp and your pipeline stays invisible.

What to do instead

  1. Zoho Bigin (India-priced, free for 1 user, paid tier low per-user — check current pricing) — one clean pipeline: Enquiry → Site Visit → Proposal → Booked. Strong mobile app, made for exactly this.
  2. Pipedrive (~$14-15/user/mo — check current pricing) — pick this over Bigin only if your reps are already used to a visual drag-drop board and you want stronger reporting.
  3. The daily habit — 5-minute stand-up where every rep moves their leads one stage or marks "lost, reason". The tool is useless without it.

First action, today: open Bigin free, create one pipeline with 4 stages named after YOUR event funnel, add the last 20 enquiries by hand. One person, 30 minutes. You'll know by lead #10 if the stages are right.

What you're being oversold

Someone will pitch you HubSpot Sales Hub or full Zoho CRM with automation, forecasting, quote builders. At your stage that's a six-month setup for a problem a shared pipeline solves in a week. HoneyBook is US-only, ignore it. Doing nothing costs you the leads that go 4 days without a callback — in event sales, that's most of the ones you lose, and you can't see it happening because it's happening in five different WhatsApp threads.

When to revisit this

When you're booking 15+ events a month and your reps are asking for automated proposal follow-ups — then Bigin's paid tier or Pipedrive earns its keep.

The part worth getting right

Your pipeline stages. Get them wrong and the reps won't use it, no matter which tool you buy. An event funnel is not a generic sales funnel — a "site visit" stage matters, a "date confirmed vs. deposit paid" split matters, "postponed" is not "lost". If your events are mostly weddings, the stages fork one way. If it's corporate and MICE, another — corporate has procurement, POs, longer cycles, and "proposal sent" means something totally different. Pick the wrong shape and you'll be re-doing this in three months with angry reps.
